What are Chakras?
Chakra comes from a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “center”. They are the energy centers of your body. The interesting thing is when you look at Acupuncture, all the chakras are on the main meridian which runs from your head to the base of your spine. Acupuncture comes from the Chinese and Chakras come from India. I love finding similarities in something from different cultures. It resonates as truth for me when that happens. Chakras are the energy centers of your body.
Healing with Stones
If you have never worked with stones before, it is important to note that tumbled stones are considered weaker than natural stones. The points which project their energy have been worn off. You should also cleanse your stones before using them. You can heal your chakras using stones which correspond to the energies of each chakra. You will want to lay down in a comfortable place and place a stone on each chakra. If doing this on yourself, I recommend you get all the stones in your hand, place the stones at the lower chakras first, and gradually lay back as you place your stones. Here are some of the most effective correspondences of chakras and stones:
Chakra | Stone |
---|---|
Root Chakra | Hematite |
Sacral Chakra | Carnelian |
Solar Plexus | Citrine |
Heart Chakra | Rose Quartz |
Throat Chakra | Blue Lace Agate |
Third Eye Chakra | Sodalite |
Crown Chakra | Amethyst |
Lay down with the stones at appropriate chakra for 5-10 minutes. Most of the work will be done in the first five minutes. No need to be uncomfortable. Also, if the stones slip from their position during the process, it generally means their work is done. If you do it for someone else, be respectful and let them place the stones in the sensitive areas like root chakra, sacral chakra, and heart chakra themselves.
Color Therapy
Each chakra corresponds to a color. It is easy to remember the colors because they are the same as the colors of the rainbow. If you remember the old trick to remembering the rainbow colors, it is ROY G. BIV. Start from your Root Chakra and work your way up to find the color correspondences.
Chakra | Color |
---|---|
Root Chakra | Red |
Sacral Chakra | Orange |
Solar Plexus | Yellow |
Heart Chakra | Green |
Throat Chakra | Blue |
Third Eye Chakra | Indigo |
Crown Chakra | Violet |
You might notice that the colors also seem to correspond to the stones above. The color is part of the reason that the stones do their work on repairing the chakras. Color therapy is pretty simple. Use color in your day to day life to heal each chakra. You can drink colored water that corresponds to each chakra or drink out of glasses that correspond to the color of each chakra. Wear clothes for the color of the chakra. Change your bed sheets to the color of each chakra. Eat foods for the color of the chakra. Knit with yarn for the color of the chakra. You can use colored light for each chakra. Sunlight is good for all chakras. Doesn’t that make perfect sense. Since sunlight is made up of all the colors of the rainbow, it is good for all the chakras. You can confirm this with a lead crystal prism which can be used to separate sunlight into its many colors.
Food Therapy
Different foods correspond to different chakras. One of the techniques I use is to choose a tea that has the foods for the chakra represented as ingredients. Here are some of the food correspondences. Many of them are pretty obvious such as a root vegetable that is also red which aligns perfectly with the root chakra with the red color correspondence, radish.
