Looking up through trees in a forest

Forest Healing Meditation

Introduction

In the embrace of nature’s sanctuary, healing awaits. The Forest Healing Meditation invites you to embark on a transformative journey through a lush forest, guided by the wisdom and energies of the ancient trees and creatures that inhabit this sacred realm. Allow the sights, sounds, and energies of the forest to envelop you as you open your heart and mind to the profound healing powers of nature.

Palms Toward Spirit

Begin by finding a comfortable spot for your meditation. Whether it’s a chair, pew, or couch, ensure your feet rest flat on the ground, and turn your palms upward. This is a position of grace. This posture, with your palms facing the heavens, signifies your openness to both receive and share energies from the realm of Spirit or Heaven. With your palms facing up, both your sending and receiving hand are facing up toward the direction most commonly associated with Spirit or Heaven. You are poised to harmonize with the flow of heavenly energy.

Relax

With intention, sink into relaxation. Breath is very powerful for without it we wouldn’t last 3 minutes. Breath is associated with Prana, Chi, and the Breath of Life. It is very spiritual. You can use it to get centered faster. Breathe deeply, inhaling the life-giving force that sustains us all. Exhale swiftly through your nose. This gets the stagnant air out of the bottom of you lungs and I find that it help me relax fast. Repeat this process three times. Slow full breath in, fast breath out. And the final third time, slow complete breath in and exhale fast. Feeling the rhythm of your breath guiding you into centeredness and presence.

Envision The Forest

As your breath steadies, visualize yourself traversing a winding path through a lush forest. The mighty towering trees around you, radiating ancient wisdom and vibrant life. The forest hums with energy — the chirping of birds, the rustle of leaves, and the gentle whisper of the wind. A rabbit walks up nearby and investigates your presence. The smell of flowers wafts through the air. You hear birds all around. The energy of this place is comforting and peaceful. If this is the path in, you are curiosity anticipating what lies ahead.

The Grand Tree

Your heart fills with excitement. As you near the end of the path, the grandeur of the forest unveils its centerpiece — a colossal tree, the embodiment of wisdom and age. Its trunk is as broad as ten trees combined, adorned with knots and crevices like the lines etched on the face of a wise elder. Approach this majestic tree with reverence, guided by your intuition.

Healing Exchange

You walk up to the tree and look for a spot on the tree that isn’t a lush and beautiful as the rest of the tree. You lay your hands on this spot. Nature in it’s perfect balance uses your waste carbon monoxide as fuel for the trees. Their waste oxygen is then in turn used by you. The same is true for sickness and disease. Your sickness, disease, and negative energy will leave through your sending hand. Then, your receiving hand will take up the tree’s energy. Sense the exchange of energy. As by design, the tree becomes more lush in this once plain spot that you chose earlier. Feel the tree’s vital energies flow into your receiving hand, infusing you with healing and rejuvenation. You feel immediately better.

The same rabbit investigates your presence some more. He is very pleased because you have come to strengthen the elder tree and yourself. Your connection with the tree is a gift, a reciprocal exchange that blesses both you and the ancient guardian of the forest.

Return Path

As your meditation journey concludes, the rabbit leads you back down the same path. You pass the same flowers and trees on your way out. But, this time you feel as a sense of unity with all around. You hear the birds again. Bless the creatures and the flora that surround you, honoring their existence. With this unity in your heart, gently transition back to your surroundings, awakening your physical senses.

When you get to the edge of the forest, you end your meditation and slowly begin to return to your normal senses. You become aware of your physical room around you. You become aware of it’s smells, sounds, and lastly sights. When you stand up, you do so feeling better than you ever have before.

Conclusion

As you return to your ordinary awareness, stand up, knowing you’ve harmonized with the forest’s energies and found solace in its embrace. The Forest Healing Meditation has enabled you to access nature’s wisdom and healing forces, leaving you revitalized and connected. May the resonance of this experience remain with you, guiding you on your journey of spiritual growth and healing.
