Location. Indianapolis is a pretty unique place with about 4 Spiritualist churches. They are basically all on different sides of the city. So if simply choosing the closest one and going there is enough, then more power to you.
Energy. So, you walk in the door and immediately feel something. What do you feel, is it good and welcoming? If you walk in the door and feel sick to your stomach, something is wrong here and you shouldn’t be here. If you walk in the door and feel instantly better. If you leave feeling better than ever, especially after a Spiritual Healing, you should keep coming back.
Music. A church has to have music. Music is one of the best ways to raise your vibration. Many churches sing songs out of old hymnals or homemade binders with an organist. You might find one that has modern music. You also have to wonder how legit the homemade binders are. You have to wonder how close they follow principle #7 (following laws), if they have homemade binders and you don’t see information about copyrights, public domain, being printed by permission, a CCLI license, etc.
Healing Service. One of the quickest ways to tell if a healer is good is if it seems to get hotter or cooler when you are around them. There are also cool healers but they are not near as common as healers that are hot when you are around them. If the healer asks you what’s wrong that might also be suspect. A healer who is also a medium may see Spirit guides healing the trouble spots and know where they are. A Spirit guide will probably finish with a full body healing just to be sure all is covered though. You should get up feeling better than ever before. The healing should keep you feeling better for a few days to a week.
Main Message. One of the biggest complaints about church is that it is boring. Oh, it’s true. Does the main message involve you? This blog believes in involving everyone who wants to be involved. We think this is the best way to make it more exciting and learn more. Otherwise, you aren’t listening and you’re just waiting for the end.
Enlightening. Are you in a church that doesn’t seem to line up with the Bible? Maybe they teach that Jesus could heal but don’t do Spiritual Healing. Maybe you read the Bible and had questions; when you asked nobody there could answer them. Any Church you attend should be enlightening. Picking up with most churches leave off is kind of the point of being Spiritual.
Offering. Do they pass a collection plate every week hoping that you feel compelled to give? Do they have entire sermons on giving? Yeah it’s true that if you give, it will come back to you but it doesn’t warrant an entire sermon. I prefer the churches with dignified offering with the lock boxes in the back of the church to keep your offering between you and your higher power.
Spirit Messages. Some churches, such as Spiritualist churches, give Spirit messages. A few of those have a policy that everyone gets a message. If you go somewhere and don’t get a message, you probably have other options. How about the quality of Spirit Messages? I think most Spiritualist churches have a good medium and an “apprentice” — trying to be polite to the guy that usually gets it wrong. If you get Spirit messages that are far out there and nothing happens after a week or two to confirm the message, you might look for another Spiritualist church.
Positive & Helpful. If you need help trimming your bushes in the Summer, if you need help moving, is the church congregation there to help you? When you are having a down day, do the people of the church spread positive energy that turns your frown upside down. The very nature of Spiritualism is to be positive and helpful to keep your vibration up and attract more positive into your life. If you are in a church that isn’t positive, something isn’t right.
